I competed in HiTech Quest during 1999 and 2001. The 2001 entry was the closest to winning. It was an ASP site that had some dynamic management and content capabilities that attempted to alleviate the task of continually updating static html pages.

The motivation of this project was my own desire not to manually update html pages but rather to grant those, who wanted the updates, the ability to commit the changes to the live web site without writing html and updating the html files on the server. In a way, the project helped me get to where I am today.

Currently I am a part-time Solutions Developer Intern at CTA where I assist in the design and development of software applications. I am also a full-time student and part-time student employee at the University of Hawaii Department of Arts and Sciences as a SQL Programmer. Mainly, my tasks deal with writing stored procedures and SQL scripts to query data from a sizable database with a noted attention to efficiency and performance.

If I could offer you one piece of advice it would be to read Mary Schmich’s June 1, 1997 column in the Chicago Daily Tribune. It’s titled “Advice, Like Youth, Probably Just Wasted On The Young.”
