HiTech Quest collects certain information in order to promote its mission and
provide the services described in this website. The type of information that
HiTech Quest collects depends on what you do when you visit our website.
A. Personal Information That You Provide to Us
If you provide us information to become a HiTech Quest mentor, a student
registering to compete in a HiTech Quest competition, or if you list an
internship program with us, you will need to provide us with some personal
information about yourself. The information that we collect includes some or
all of the following: your name; your daytime phone number; your evening phone
number; your pager number; your mobile phone number; your e-mail address; your
you employer and occupation if you are not a student; and your age, school and
grade if you are a student.

and use our website. Some of this information is stored in cookies (see the

under the age of 14 who wish to register for a HiTech Quest competition must do
so through an adult advisor, or a parent or legal guardian. Those features of
this website that result in our actively collecting personal information can
only be used by persons 14 years of age and older

students wishing to register for a HiTech Quest competition: (1) name; (2) age,
(3) daytime phone number, (4) evening phone number, (5) mailing address, (6)
school, (7) grade, and (8) e-mail address. In the case of students under the
age of 14, we will ask the child's adult advisor, parent or legal guardian to
provide the following information about himself or herself: (1) name; (2)
postal address; (3) telephone number; (4) e-mail address; and (5) any comments
or concerns. We take reasonable measures to ensure the confidentiality,
security, and integrity of all personal information that we collect.
We will use the personal information collected internally only, to register the
student for the competition and to send the student and/or the student's
advisor, parent or legal guardian information about the competition. All of the
information collected is necessary to accomplish these purposes. We do not
condition a student's participation in any HiTech Quest activity on the
disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary to their
participation in the activity. We do not provide personal information about the
student, or the student's advisor, parent or guardian to any third parties.
An adult advisor, parent or guardian who register's a student under the age of
14 can review the information that we have on record about the student and
delete all or part of this information. In order to review or delete a
student's personal information, or to notify us that we may not further collect
or use a child's personal information, the advisor, parent or guardian can

III. What Does HiTech Quest Do with the Information It Collects?

personal information, in order to promote HiTech Quest's mission to identify,
encourage and mentor grade school level students having special interests
and/or skills in information technology. We also collect information from
website users in order to improve the website and enhance your experience at
our website.
If you register to be a sponsor, or mentor, or list an internship program with
our website, we will post the information about you and your company, including
personal information that you provide to us, on the HiTech Quest website for
other Internet users to see and use. We will not sell personal information
about you nor make personal information about you available to third parties
for any commercial purpose.
If you are 14 years old or older and register to participate in a HiTech Quest
competition, or if you are an adult advisor, parent or guardian and register a
student under the age of 14 for a HiTech Quest competition, we will use the
personal information you provide to us internally only, in order to send you
and/or the student information about the competition. In all other respects we
will safeguard the personal information from disclosure. Competition
participants and award winners, and their parents and legal guardians, will be
asked to sign a publicity release that will allow us to use the student's names
and likeness, and the name of their schools, on the HiTech Quest Projects and
Winners webpage, and in other ways that promotes HiTech Quest and its purpose.
We also use the information we collect to make sure that our website provides
you with the resources you need and the level of quality you expect. For
example, information about the sections of the website that people visit most
frequently and least frequently helps us to decide which features website users
find useful and which features need some changes.
Please be advised, however, that we reserve the right to disclose any personal
information about you to appropriate third parties without your prior consent
if we have a good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to: (1)
