"My HiTech Quest experience was definitely filled with positives. The biggest positive was the fact that the HiTech Quest got me connected to the tech community in Hawaii; mainly because it was held in conjunction with a technology convention and various companies tend to recruit potential employee through HiTech Quest, which is a big plus if you are looking for a summer job or internship in the field. Additionally, the process of planning and building your project is a definite positive in itself and builds valuable experience for those never ending college projects. Overall, HiTech Quest is an opportunity not to be missed by any high school student interested in the fields of design and technology."

"I got $$$, that I later used to buy a cheap computer that later provide me with an extra machine to do windows2000 labs on and tinker with Linux. In addition I got involved with CTA and their programs, which led me to a very enlightening summer internship."

"Personally, I think what I got out of the HiTech Quest experience was extremely influential. It made me realize just how powerful technology is and how it can replace your everyday paperwork and therefore making one's life much more convenient. What amazed me even more was that what I learned from HiTech Quest was only a fraction of the extensive technological world out there."

"Not only did this competition motivate me to find a subject I was interested in, HiTech Quest also gave way to forming several friendships, quality [classroom] time, and two internships at CTA. HiTech Quest also aided in my academic journey. After going through this experience I realized that the technology field was something I could further pursue. Quite frankly HiTech Quest will be forever imprinted in my memories."

"I got a lot of positive things back from HiTech Quest. For one thing, it taught me how to be comfortable around technology such as computers where as six months before I would have thought doing something as building a simple, functional web page was near impossible. It has helped a lot in college where more and more tasks depend on technology and, unlike high school, few people are available to hold your hand through every step. It's nice feeling the confidence that I can handle some things on my own. Also, to some degree, it helped me get over some of the fear of speaking in front of people."

"It was positive to have a goal to focus on and only a limited time to do it. It required the development of time management and problem solving skills to make it to HTQ on time with a finished project. After having done it once, the second competition became something to look forward to, despite the large amount of work involved. It was very interesting to see what everyone else was doing, and this meant that I was inclined to go out and learn more after the competition than I had learned before. Seeing what's possible drove me on in new directions."
